Paras Hospital Darbhanga becomes the first to provide specialised Gastro & GI Surgery care in Mithilanchal

Taking the mission of providing affordable, accessible and quality care further, Paras Darbhanga has launched specialised gastroenterology and gastrointestinal surgery care services in Mithilanchal. The step has made the hospital yet again the first to provide specialised comprehensive tertiary care services. Doctors of national repute have joined the hospital and have developed clinical protocols based on international guidelines.

“Our aim is to provide the best care to the people of Mithilanchal in their hometown. We don’t want people to feel the need to travel away from their homes for tertiary care. Any death or disability caused due to delay in medical treatment is a loss to the society, community and to us. It is our endeavour to touch the lives of atleast 10 crore residents of Darbhanga and surrounding districts,” shares Dr Anand Paderu, Unit Head, Paras Hospital Darbhanga.

Leading the gastroenterology department are two exceptional medical professionals –Dr Sharad Kumar Jha and Dr Shantam Mohan, who are alumni of prestigious medical colleges and have practiced medicine at reputed hospitals in the past.

“Through our profession we aim at giving back to the community. We are from Bihar and it pains to see that numerous patients suffer from complications due to no access to specialised care. Darbhanga is a major district and this area is associated with rains and a number of gastrointestinal diseases. Over the last few months we have been able to successfully treat some simple and numerous complex cases,” shares Dr Sharad Kumar Jha, Consultant Gastroenterology, Paras Hospital Darbhanga.
